Crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, permanently furrowed brows, wrinkled necks and hands may all cause us pause as we glance into the mirror at the start of each day. Fortunately, there are many ways to get our minds off of the visible signs of aging and onto something else. Platelet rich plasma treatments are among them. They’ve been capturing international headlines for some time now on many different fronts.

No longer just for facial rejuvenation, it’s a therapeutic technique that can get rid of wrinkles and put the spring back into a person’s step, quite literally. Orthopedic surgeons frequently use it to address osteoarthritis, knee, ankle and leg pain. At Bellissimo Medical, we often use it to improve a person’s physical appearance instead. It all starts with a visit to see Board Certified Internist Dr. Jean-Claude Nerette who has specialized training in Platelet Rich Plasma.

Maybe you’ve seen him on TV or read about him in Suzanne Somers’ book, Knockout. He’s an expert in platelet rich plasma therapy and other facial rejuvenation techniques. If Dr. Nerette determines that PRP therapy is the right solution for a patient’s particular problem, his staff will help set up the proper number of treatment sessions.

In most instances, eligible patients will undergo two to three therapy sessions. The sessions take place inside of our comfortable, state of the art medical office in Weston. They involve having 1/3 ounces of blood drawn, spun and re-injected back into the patient’s body. A local anesthetic is used during the procedure. So most patients never feel any discomfort. After the blood has been re-injected back into the body, patients are free to return home and continue with life as they know it.

Dr. Nerette accepts CareCredit, bank debit cards, cash and major credit cards as payment. Appointments for platelet rich plasma treatments are normally available Tuesday through Saturday and complimentary workshops are sometimes offered,  too.
